Job Description

Key Responsibilities (The 90-Day Blueprint)

As a trainee, your primary focus will be on learning our internal ecosystem and mastering the tools of the trade:

• Real-time Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the SIEM (e.g., QRadar) and other security dashboards to identify potential security incidents.
• Alert Triage: Perform initial validation of security alerts to distinguish between benign activity and legitimate threats.
• Incident Documentation: Log and track security incidents within the ticketing system with high accuracy, ensuring all findings are clearly communicated.
• Playbook Mastery: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Incident Response Playbooks to execute basic remediation steps.
• Threat Intelligence: Support the team by researching recent vulnerabilities and Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) from global threat feeds.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or final year students).
• Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common web vulnerabilities.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills with an obsession for detail and "connecting the dots".
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
• Basic understanding of SIEM concepts or EDR tools.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps, or Microsoft SC-900).
