JOB SUMMARY:

The Registrar / Incharge Pediatrics is responsible for medical and surgical care to babies, children and young patients under the supervision of the consultant to ensure the timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of the patients condition according to current clinical guidelines and quality standards. Being a senior he/she will be given additional responsibility for training & guiding junior doctors.

  • Registrar will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and post graduate students.
  • Timely communicate with consultants and other departments for the safety of patients and an efficient clinical services.
  • Participates fully in assigned educational activities including conferences rotations competency testing and departmental meetings.
  • Rapidly acquires and integrates new medical knowledge including that gained during consultation and focused reading about patient problems.
  • Fosters positive networking relationships with medical clinical and administrative colleagues within the organization.
  • Maintains discipline within the department & ensure punctuality of post graduate residents also maintain a daily roaster for trainees.
  • Develops and maintains a personal program of self-study and professional growth with guidance of Head of Department and hospital faculty consultants.
  • Performs literature searches and accesses information necessary to obtain needed knowledge about patients and advance own knowledge.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments skills technology and current literature in order to initiate and respond to changes in the work environment.
  • Successful completion of in-house competency assessments developed by concerned Head of Department.
  • Positive feedback from patients peers and administration regarding attitude and ethical practices.
  • Attendance and punctuality.
  • Pays attention to cost and waste to decrease unnecessary expenses for the patient and the organization.
  • Integrates findings from history and physical examinations into a reasonably ordered differential diagnosis and provides patient care under the supervision of hospital faculty consultant.
  • Performs procedures and patient care activities as per hospital regulations, ensuring that he/she does not exceed current capabilities and seeks supervision when required.
  • Develops a plan for patients that provides for orderly and thoughtful further investigation and treatment, keeping the safety and comfort of the patient foremost in mind.
  • Prepares discharge summary and advise future course of action to patient at the time of discharge.
  • Comprehensively documents findings and progress in patients charts in a timely and accurate manner.
