Deputy Manager Shift Operation

Our client seeking four highly motivated and experienced Deputy Managers for Shift Operations to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis across our Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad locations.

Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the power plant during assigned shifts, adhering to all operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

• Coordinate and manage all shift-related operational activities, liaising effectively with internal departments, the Load Dispatch Centre, and external stakeholders to guarantee seamless plant functionality.

• Champion the implementation and adherence to the Permit to Work (PTW) system, plant chemistry coordination, startup procedures, interlock checks, protection testing, and manage non-routine operational tasks.

• Execute operational schedules to meet targeted production availability, responding proactively and effectively to operational abnormalities, disturbances, and emergency situations.

• Continuously monitor plant performance, meticulously maintain shift logs and operational reports, and ensure clear and timely communication of all shift activities and critical incidents.

• Support and supervise shift teams, including managing staff records, leave schedules, and contributing to performance evaluations.

• Lead the preparation of incident/accident reports, conduct thorough root cause analysis (RCA), and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for operational deviations.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and recommending opportunities to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and overall operational performance.

• Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of Integrated Management System (IMS) objectives, including Environmental Aspect-Impact Assessments, Hazard Risk Assessments, emission monitoring, and waste management.

Required Qualifications: • Education:, Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or Bachelor of Business Administration.

• Experience:, A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in operations management, with a strong preference for experience in power plant operations.

• Skills:, Proven expertise in Team Leadership, Operations Management, Shift Planning, Process Optimization, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Performance Monitoring, Safety Compliance, Quality Control, Resource Allocation, Communication Skills, and Conflict Resolution.

• Technical Proficiency:, Demonstrated ability to work with ERP Systems and SCADA Systems.

• Methodologies:, Strong understanding and application of Lean Principles.

• Languages:, Proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications: • Relevant certifications such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt.

• Experience with Maximo.

• In-depth knowledge of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management Systems.

• Demonstrated capability in managing HSE emergencies and conducting Hazard Risk Assessments.

• Familiarity with Process Safety Management System requirements and implementation.

• Knowledge of applicable legal requirements and Aspect Impact Assessment.

• Experience with spillage containment, waste management, and emission monitoring practices.
