Role
10Pearls is seeking a Principal/ Staff Software Consultant – Redis & Backend Engineering to design, optimize, and maintain high-performance Redis-based solutions for enterprise-scale applications. This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer with deep expertise in Redis, distributed caching, performance optimization, and scalable system design. You will work closely with development teams to implement efficient caching strategies, optimize application performance, and ensure high availability across mission-critical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Redis-based solutions for enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain caching strategies to improve application performance and scalability.
• Implement Redis features including caching, Pub/Sub messaging, distributed queues, and rate limiting.
• Integrate Redis with backend applications developed using .NET, Node.js, or Java.
• Optimize Redis performance through efficient data structures, indexing strategies, and memory utilization.
• Configure and maintain high-availability Redis environments using Redis Cluster and Redis Sentinel.
• Monitor cache performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning best practices.
• Define and manage memory allocation, eviction policies, persistence, and replication strategies.
• Collaborate with software engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to build scalable and resilient distributed systems.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
• Document Redis architecture, operational procedures, and performance recommendations.
• Support production environments by investigating performance issues and implementing long-term improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in backend software development or distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Redis in production environments.
• Solid understanding of caching strategies, Pub/Sub messaging, distributed queues, and rate limiting.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience integrating Redis with backend applications using .NET, Node.js, or Java.
• Experience configuring and managing Redis Cluster and Redis Sentinel for high availability.
• Strong understanding of Redis memory management, persistence, replication, and eviction policies.
• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting cache performance using observability and monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to optimize high-throughput systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience working in high-volume, low-latency production environments.
• Redis certification or contributions to open-source Redis projects.
