The Role

Role Title: Data Scientist II

Location: Pakistan

Work Hours: EST hours (midday to midnight PKT, as per client requirements)

About the Role

Afiniti uses data science to enhance human interactions in large enterprises by intelligently pairing customers or tasks with the most compatible company representatives. Our primary focus is improving contact center interactions across sales, service, retention, collections, and customer satisfaction in industries ranging from telecommunications and banking to healthcare and hospitality.

As a Data Scientist II, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and deploying data-driven models that directly impact real-world business outcomes. Afiniti measures performance through real-time control groups, routing a portion of interactions through client-existing systems while the majority leverage Afiniti’s proprietary pairing and next-best-action strategies. This role offers hands‑on exposure to production systems, client deployments, and end‑to‑end model ownership.

What Will Be Your Key Deliverables

Perform statistical inference on large and complex data sets to inform business decisions and drive measurable actions.
Conduct deep‑div, problem‑solving analyses and deliver custom insights based on client and internal needs.
Build, evaluate, and refine predictive models to optimize agent‑customer interactions and outcomes.
Collaborate closely with data analytics, engineering, and cross‑functional teams to support deployment and production activities.
Translate theoretical concepts and standardized data science techniques into practical, real‑world solutions.
Support or lead production activities on deployed client accounts, including execution of deployment plans and ongoing optimization.
Communicate analytical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Who You Are

Experience

2–3 years of hands‑on experience in a relevant data science, analytics, or quantitative role.
Practical experience applying statistical, machine learning, or optimization techniques to real‑world problems.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

Technical Skills

Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: SQL and R or Python.
Experience working with large data sets, data analysis, data visualization, and model development.
Solid understanding of statistics, machine learning, linear programming, or mathematical optimization, both theoretical and applied.
Familiarity with relational databases, version control, and reproducibility tools such as Git, Jupyter, and R Markdown.
Exposure to Bayesian statistics, hierarchical modeling, MCMC algorithms, or latent factor models is a strong plus.
Strong attention to detail and a disciplined, analytical mindset.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and take projects from concept to completion.
Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new techniques and technologies.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross‑functional, and globally distributed environment.
Able to document, explain, and share complex concepts with peers and stakeholders.
