Agay Barho is seeking a meticulous and knowledgeable Junior UK Accountant to support and manage the financial operations of our diverse business sectors, including construction and charity. The ideal candidate possesses solid experience in bookkeeping, CIS, VAT, and UK tax regulations, coupled with a familiarity with charity accounting practices. This full-time position is based in Rawalpindi and requires at least three years of relevant accounting experience. The Junior UK Accountant will work independently without managing a team, focusing on delivering accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with all UK regulatory requirements to support the organization's financial health and growth. The Junior UK Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining precise financial documentation, preparing essential reports, and managing statutory submissions such as VAT returns and HMRC correspondence. This role demands strong organizational skills to handle multiple clients and deadlines efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Additionally, familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, experience in payroll processing, and the ability to support tax compliance tasks such as Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment are key components of success in this role. Exposure to the construction industry's specific accounting needs and charity compliance standards will enhance the candidate's capability to meet the dynamic demands of the organization.
Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and comprehensive bookkeeping records, including sales, purchases, bank reconciliations, and journal entries to ensure the integrity of all financial data.
Prepare and submit VAT returns in strict adherence to HMRC regulations, ensuring timely and accurate filing.
Manage and execute Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) administrative processes to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Prepare monthly management accounts to provide clear financial insights and assist with the preparation of year-end financial statements.
Handle all HMRC correspondence diligently, resolve tax-related queries efficiently, and ensure timely response to regulatory bodies.
Maintain and reconcile Director Loan Accounts (DLA) to ensure accuracy and transparency in financial dealings.
Support corporate tax compliance activities including Corporation Tax and Self-Assessment filings, working to minimize risks and report accurately.
Maintain financial records for charity organizations in alignment with United Kingdom regulations and best practices.
Prepare charity accounts in accordance with Charity Commission guidelines and ensure strict compliance with the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).
Assist in preparing detailed financial reports for trustees and other regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent tools effectively to streamline bookkeeping and reporting processes.
Process payroll accurately and ensure proper documentation and compliance with statutory requirements.
Organize and prioritize multiple client accounts and deadlines efficiently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and professionalism.
Demonstrate strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance.
